Carey Austin Pitts, 61, will be Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel, with the Chaplain Mark Ledbetter officiating.Burial will be in Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery in Sylacauga, Alabama.On the morning of Aug. 14, 2016, Carey passed away peacefully at home. He was 61 years old.The Frank Brown International Songwriter's Festival on the Alabama Gulf Coast had a very special place in his life and in his heart. Most of all, Carey loved people. He was often referred to as the most tenderhearted person people knew.Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.The family will accept flowers, or donations can be made to The Boys Club of Sylacauga.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, Alabama will direct the services.
