He played golf since he was four, and competed for Glendale High School – where he helped take his team to the state title and finished fifth individually and was proud to compete for the Missouri State University Golf Team. He was a deep thinker who touched many lives with his quiet, supportive demeanor. He loved animals, especially his Doberman Bruno.“On behalf of Missouri State University and the athletic department, we want to express our condolences to the Holmes family,” Missouri State athletic director Kyle Moats said in a statement. “Our golf team lost a brother, and we are heartbroken for them. Sam had a positive impact on the Bears family and touched so many lives.”Holmes was born Nov. 3, 1997, in Springfield, Mo. and attended Glendale High School before signing with Missouri State.
