Born on April 5, 1994 in Wynnewood, PA, he was a son of Charles and Leslie (Chelko) Staab of Spring City. Kenny was a 2012 graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School, and worked as a chef at Tony Joe's Restaurant in Bucktown, PA. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and playing basketball with his friends.In addition to his parents, Kenny is survived by one sister, Emily, wife of Giuseppe Picone of Sanatoga, PA; maternal grandmother, Carolyn, wife of Dr. Charles Wilson of State College, PA; his Uncle and Godfather, James, husband of Carrie Chelko of Garnet Valley, PA, and Uncle David (Jayme) Chelko of Lower Burrell, PA; and two cousins, A.J. Chelko and Sarah Chelko. The museum also is undergoing changes, Cummer Beaches members learned at a Sept. 27 Sawgrass Beach Club kick-off cocktail party. “We have an extraordinary vision for expansion of programming,” Cummer director for advancement Lori Ann Whittington said. The former women’s club building on museum property was razed and a new facility will be built to use for programs. That will allow the current auditorium to be turned into more gallery space. Also in the works is a rebuild of Art Connections for children and a new garden learning center. “The Cummer you love is going to continue to improve, continue to expand,” Whittington assured.COO and Chief Curator Holly Keris talked about how the museum builds its collection. Nina Cummer established its core as her legacy in the 1940s. She wanted to acquire top periods and movements in western art history. An early acquisition was a donation of Meissen Porcelain. It is one of the top three Meissen collections in the world. The museum currently owns 5,000 original artworks, 80 percent of which were acquired through gifts, but “you can’t rely solely on gifts…really significant acquisitions are likely to require multiple sources of funding,” Keris said.
