Linda, 70, died Aug. 22 in Stayton. She was born in Long Beach, California. She moved to Oregon in 1971, living in Stayton, Scio and Lyons.Linda married Walter Claassen on Nov. 21, 1964 in Fair Oaks, California. She was a member of Scio Baptist Church and Canyon Bible Fellowship in Lyons. She had a special place in her heart for teaching young people in Sunday School and Awana. She spent countless hours studying her Bible, praying and serving others. She was a bold witness for Christ and shared the plan of salvation with many people over the years. She helped many people find her friend Jesus as their Savior.Linda was an accomplished pianist and organist. She shared her talents at church and accompanied a ladies trio in college. She had a beautiful singing voice and was a member of choirs and ladies singing groups. She enjoyed all crafts and was talented as a seamstress, quilter and doing bead work. Linda loved reading and trying new authors and genres. She loved trying new things and was up for many adventures with her family throughout the years. She loved camping as a young woman and had many stories to tell of her childhood.She became a HAM radio operator at a young age and regaled her children with stories of communicating with peopl...
