Lynda Loraine Unruh McAbee, 57, Grove, died on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, following a sudden illness.Lynda was born on Jan. 21, 1960, in National City, California, to Norman and Fae Unruh. She graduated from Moundridge, Kansas High School in 1978.She married her high school sweetheart, Ron McAbee on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1978, in Moundridge, Kansas. The couple bought their home in Grove in 2007.A member of COS (Church of the Shepherd) in Grove, Lynda lived out her faith in her volunteerism. Soft-spoken, she lived a life filled with compassion that flowed from her sweet spirit. She was a very classy lady who surrounded herself with many friends.Actively involved in a variety of organizations, Lynda’s passions included serving with the Delaware County Children’s Special Advocacy Network (DCCSAN) in Jay.She was also a member of the Sweet Annie’s Herb Club and it’s yearly Christmas Homes Tour, the Grand Lake Newcomer's Club, Book Club and Bible Study Fellowship.She was preceded in death by her mother, Fae, and her sister, Crystal Rush.Survivors include her husband, Ron, of the home; and two sons: Randy (Jill) McAbee, Grove, and Rusty (Nicole) McAbee, B...
Monday, October 17, 2016During his lifetime, Flip was active in many professional associations. From 1990-1992 he was Regional Vice President of International City Management Association Board of Directors. He served on the Board of Directors for Wyoming Association and Municipalities from 1982-1996. Flip was active in the Senate Chaplain's weekly Bible Study, and the Men's Saturday Fellowship at Church of the Good Shepherd, where he was a faithful member.His family was one of Flip's greatest joys. He is survived by his wife, Shelia and his children, Jeff (Jen) McConnaughey, and Sarah (Ryan) Larsen; eight well-loved grandchildren, Fen (19), Tesla (15), Roma (16), Vitaliy (12), Bodie (11), Laird (9), Jude (7), and Tatum (5). He treasured his family by marriage, Larry and Kim Sutherland, Joann McConnaughey and niece and nephew, Janet and Jay McConnaughey.Flip was preceded in death by his parents, George and Phyllis McConnaughey; brother, John McConnaughey; and father and mother in-law, Gene and Erma Sutherland.In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials in Flip's name be made to Host Ukraine, the organization whom brought his last two grandsons to the family. She graduated from Vernon College as a LVN and later earned her RVT certification while working for her long time employer, Dr. Clark Brazil. Bambi was a beautiful person inside and out. She had many interests including playing softball and racquetball, reading and going to casinos, and visiting her home town of San Diego, California as often as she could and spending time at the beach. Her biggest joys however came from her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her husband, Mike Watts of Wichita Falls; her children, Erin Kilpatrick and husband Dennis of Maryland, and Braxton Watts of Wichita Falls; her mother, Betty Goetz; her brother, Ralph King; sister, Amber King all of San Diego, California; and her grandchildren, Cadence Kilpatrick, and Aiden Kilpatrick.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.owensandbrumley.com...

He served on the advisory board of former National City Bank branches of North Vernon and Seymour and the former First Community Bank in North Vernon before retiring in June of 2000. His hobbies included spending time with family and friends, watching college basketball, baseball and football, helping take care of the cattle and riding ATV around the farm.He is survived by his daughter, Mari DeAnn (Dennis) Sharp of Butlerville; two grandsons, Josh (Katie) Yeager and Jeremy Yeager both of Butlerville, Indiana; and four great-grandchildren, Amber Yeager of Butlerville, Brittany Yeager, Jasper Yeager and Sierra Moore, all of North Vernon.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, Michael Dean Perkins on July 10, 1980; a brother, Floyd Eugene Perkins; and an infant son.A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham and the Rev. Caleb Reynolds officiating. The visitation will be held at the Nazarene Church from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. by the Butlerville Masonic Lodge.
