She died in 2014.A Mass was held Monday (March 20) at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home.Burial was private.

Anna graduated from Yorktown High School and Santa Rosa School of Nursing in San Antonio. She was a R.N. who worked with Polio patients at Warms Springs, plant nurse at Dupont and for Dr O.E. Hall.She is survived by daughters, Virginia (Wayne) Sparck of Evansville, Indiana and Kathleen Ryan of Houston; sons, Kevin Ryan of Cuero and Gary Ryan of Austin; grandchildren, Erin (Dustin) Sparck of Los Angeles, CA and Sarah, Kate, and Gunnar Ryan of Austin; sisters, Leona Berckenhoff and Doris Boldt of Yorktown; brother, Al (Myrlin) of Yorktown; and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by parents; husband; son, Richard III; sisters, Olga and Beth; brothers, Ed, Vic and Gilbert; and two infant sisters.Visitation will be Monday, April 17 at Freund Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:30. Monday, January 23, 2017Florence, Alabama."We can't understand it," said Rivers' dad, Trey Starkey. "We can't comprehend how God works in mysterious ways, but I know it's true."On Oct. 30, 2015, Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the home at 2296 Valley Road in Holley by the Sea after receiving a call from a person who said he had shot someone. According to the arrest report, when deputies arrived they found 60-year-old John Marshall Fitzgerald with blood on his clothing on the front porch of the home kneeling over Starkey, who was lying on his back.Starkey was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital by helicopter. Fitzgerald said, "Oh my god! I shot him! I shot him!", the report said. When deputies asked where Starkey was shot, Fitzgerald replied "right here on the porch." Deputies found a handgun just inside the front door.Starkey and a friend, Thomas Darby, were visiting Navarre on a break from the University of Alabama and were staying with Darby's aunt and her husband, Fitzgerald. Darby told deputies that Rivers and Fitzgerald got into an argument, and they had been drinking. Fitzgerald went into the master bedroom and came out holding a pistol. He pointed it at Starkey and Darby, and said he would shoot them if they did not leave immediately. Darby was able to make it out of the front door. He lost contact with Starkey...

"He had all kinds of friends."LIKE A BROTHERPeter Wadsworth, 38, was like family to his friend Tammy Tasoff.Wadsworth looked out for her, doing little things that made her life easier. He would organize her messy files, give her advice and fix her computer if she needed help, said Tasoff, a dental student.He bought video games because he knew she loved them, and he would often watch her play, she said."Usually he'd say, 'Let's play video games,' and then he'd say, 'No, I just want to watch you play,'" she said, sobbing. "He'd make me food. He took really good care of me.
