VanDenBergAug. 2, 1957-June 3, 2016Age: 58Residence: GreeleyWynn VanDenBerg, 58, of Greeley passed away on June 3, 2016, after a brave battle with ALS. He was born in Hettinger, N.D., Aug. 2, 1957.Growing up on a ranch in rural South Dakota, Wynn loved ranching and the open prairie. He raised livestock and worked tirelessly to provide for his family. In 1986 he and his family moved to Greeley where he attended flight school and became an aviation instructor. In 1993 Wynn changed his focus to carpentry and became a master craftsman. He oversaw the completion of many beautiful homes in Weld County and beyond. On a daily basis his former partners spoke of his talents. He finished the home he and Shelly shared.His family, daughters and grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved the time he spent with them. His grandson Hudson’s middle name, Gehrig, honors both his Grandpa Wynn and his paternal Grandma Janis Drovdal, who passed from ALS in March 2009.Wynn was always serving others, this gift was returned by his loving and devoted caregivers; Dakota, Debbie, Grace, John and Stephanie.
