Monday, January 02, 2017Casey’s General Store until she retired.She is survived by her sisters, Ona (Lawrence) Danker and Shirley (Raymond) Larsen; children, Lowell D. Benishek (Julie Molitor) of Canon City, CO, Lee A. Benishek (Pam Kriegel) of Brooklyn, IA and Lois A. Benishek of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, Shannon Wohl, Kristina (Mike Steward), Karla (Bryan Morrison), Daniel Benishek and five great-grandchildren.Marilyn was pre-deceased by her husband, Claire A. Benishek (who she later divorced); siblings, William, Margaret “Pegge”, John, Bette, and Denton Schultz.Marilyn was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Daughters of Rebekah. She will be remembered for her sarcastic wit, straightforward personality, solid work ethic, and willingness to sacrifice herself for her family. Marilyn enjoyed playing cards, quilting, polka music, the sights, sounds, and smell of farm life, as well as spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will live in our hearts and memories forever.In lieu of flowers, please honor Marilyn’s memory with a donation to the Belle Plaine Ambulance or Camp Courageous and showing a random act of kindness each week to a family member or a stranger. Monday, October 24, 2016Noon Thursday at the Peacock Funeral Home.Mike was born on July 30, 1945 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Jewel Marvin Harvey and departed this life on Monday October 10, 2016 at the St. Thomas More Hospital in Canon City, Colorado at the age of 71.Mike was preceded in death by his father, by two sisters-Nadine and Loretta, by one brother-J.M. Harvey; and by two half siblings – Shirley Faye Brown and Jack Harvey.Mike Harvey is survived by his wife Gail of the family home in Lamar; by three sons – Brian (Amy) Harvey of Dodge City, KS; Todd (Lisa) Harvey of Lamar; and Zeb Harvey of Oberlin, KS; by five grandchildren – Zach (Serina), Grace, Morgan, Reece, and Kasen as well as by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project either directly or through the funeral home office.Services for Mike Harvey are under the direction of the Peacock Funereal Home.
