Monday, February 20, 2017William (Stephanie) Skemp of Onalaska and their children, William, Landon, Carly and Isaac; Anthony Skemp of Franklin, Wis.; two sisters, Betty Curtis of Milwaukee and Eileen “Bea” (Don) Gass of Castle Rock, Colo.; two brothers, Robert (Fran) Skemp and Joseph Skemp, both of La Crosse; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, in 2010; a son, Timothy Skemp in 2002; a sister, Katherine “Kay” Lotzer; and a brother, Thomas Skemp.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Private family burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. There will be no visitation held prior to the Mass. A reception in Blessed Sacrament Parish Hall will follow immediately after the Mass.In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Timothy R. and Doris J. Monday, November 28, 2016A service for Donahue, 34, is scheduled for Friday in Englewood. Donahue was struck and killed by a careless driver Friday afternoon on Interstate 25 south of Castle Rock. Donahue was struck by a commercial truck owned by U.S. Foods near Tomah Road. Noe Gamez-Ruiz has been cited in Donahue’s death. He faces charges of careless driving resulting in death, a misdemeanor, and failure to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle.“Cody was extremely hard working, honorable, and genuinely kind,” his obituary reads. “He was so honest he even gave his own wife a ticket. He was always happy to lend a tool or stop what he was doing to lend a hand. He loved being a daddy and teaching his daughters to ride a bike, build a snowman, and rock climb.”Donahue was born in Grand Forks, N.D. in 1982 and had two daughters. He met his wife, Velma, while in college in North Dakota and they later moved to Colorado.“He was an exuberant kid who wore through the tires on his big wheel,” the tribute says. “He loved water skiing, four-wheelers, and snowmobiling.”As he grew older he was always the designated driver for his friends, making sure everyone got home safely. He met Velma Dusper right after graduating high school.“He was immediately head over heels,” the tribute says, “although it took him two more months to ask her out.”Cody was pursuing an engineering degree at the University of North Dakota when he and Velma got married three years later and moved to Denver.

Monday, July 25, 2016Hoth told a Gazette reporter in 2002 that he remembered climbing a tree atop Cheyenne Mountain and shining a light to his engineer, Charlie Upton, who was near Castle Rock as they relayed a network signal from a station in Denver."The name Harry Hoth is synonymous with television in Colorado," Nick Matesi, vice president and general manager of KKTV in Colorado Springs, said in an email. "His contribution to the industry and to our community is well documented and will always be appreciated and cherished by those of who live and work here."As mayor from 1963 to 1967, Hoth helped establish a new Pikes Peak Summit House and led the push for a pipeline project to bring snowmelt to Front Range reservoirs. He was first elected to the council in 1959 and also served on the city's Planning Commission from 1951 to 1962."Harry Hoth was a great citizen of Colorado Springs," Mayor John Suthers said in an email. "Starting with his days at Colorado College, he was totally devoted to his hometown."Hoth's legacy can be felt across the Colorado Springs area and Pikes Peak region through scholarships he funded and his roles in getting The Broadmoor World Arena built and bringing the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association and its Hall of Fame to Colorado Springs. He also had a long tenure as the radio voice the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
