Monday, June 26, 2017Mary A. Macnamara, of New Britain Township, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at her residence. She was 81. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Macnamara for 46 years, until his death in 2009.Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah (Concannon) Ford. She was a 1953 graduate of Little Flower High School, Philadelphia. Mrs. Macnamara was a homemaker. She was an active member of St. Jude Parish Catholic Church, Chalfont. Mary had loved shopping and trips to the shore.Mrs. Macnamara is survived by her children, Maria E. Hawkins and her husband, Mark, of Churchville, and Joe J. Macnamara and his wife, Tracy, of Perkasie; a brother, Michael Ford, of North Wales; and two grandchildren, Joshua Daniel and Nicholas Joseph. In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne B., in 2008, and three brothers, William, James, and Daniel. Monday, April 03, 2017In 1962, the VanVleet's moved to Richmond, Indiana, where Art was Vice President of Manufacturing at NATCO. After raising their family in Richmond, Art's career took him to New Britain, Connecticut in 1974. Art and Doris moved back to Richmond to retire and to live near their son, Eric VanVleet, and his family in 2000. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris VanVleet, who died in 2014.Art knew life was a precious gift which he invested in his faith, family and friends. He played both tennis and golf into his 91st year. He had many good friends surrounding his interests such as golf, tennis, and church. He was a founding member of the Marching Chowder Bridge Club that started in 1962 and still meeting to this day. VanVleet was a committed community activist, one of the founders of Ivy Tech, President of the Richmond Symphony, President of Junior Achievement, and a member of the Chamber Board of Directors. In the last 2 years, he was very engaged in the "Heroin is Here" organization.Survivors include his children, Alan C. (Emmanuelle) VanVleet of Pennsylvania, Eric L. He was born November 22, 1946 in New Britain, CT to the late Jean and Joseph Potanka, Sr. Joe was many things to many people; a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, teacher, coach, mentor and friend. He had a true gift of reading the hearts of youths, his involvement was pure and unforgettable. Many people looked up to him for guidance, work ethic, leadership and saw him as a caring role model. He was able to see the potential in just about everyone he met and worked hard to make sure they could see the same potential in themselves. He was the loving fiancé of Jacqueline Paradis.Arthur was born Aug. 9, 1951, in New Britain the son of the late Edmondo and Angela (Venturini) Canzonetti. He was a 1971 graduate of Plainville High School and had attended Tunxis Community College. He was the Chief Operating Officer for Oil Purification Systems in Waterbury, having worked there for many years.Besides his longtime fiancée, Jackie, he leaves his loving daughter, Angela J. Canzonetti and their puppy, Chance, with whom he made his home. He also leaves behind his daughters, Kristina and Kathryn Canzonetti of Southington and Maggie Lawton of Kalamazoo, Mich., as well her son, Carter.
