Monday, December 05, 2016Ryan Blessing rblessing@norwichbulletin.com, (860) 425-4205 rblessingNBMONTVILLE — Candy canes, T-shirts and other goodies rained down Sunday evening on the curbs of Norwich-New London Turnpike in Montville to an eager crowd that had come to watch the town's annual holiday parade.The parade, now in its 19th year, is a staple of the season in Montville, where town fire trucks festooned with wreaths and colored lights are part of a lineup that includes high school bands, local businesses, Scout groups and town officials who all march from the Church and Allen Funeral Home on Route 32 to the entrance to the town’s municipal complex."It was very good. We've been coming three or four years now and this is probably the best one," resident Darren Dyke, who came with his wife and son James, 2, said. The main attraction for the parade, Santa Claus, rode atop a fire truck at the end of the procession, waving to the many children who yelled out "Hello" or "Merry Christmas" to him.
