Monday, March 13, 2017Mrs. Kathleen P. Rae, of Darien CT, passed away peacefully on the evening of March 7, 2017, at Stamford Hospital.Mrs. Rae, the daughter of Nicholas Perone and Elsie Fitzgerald, was born on January 22, 1936 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1954 and earned her B.A. in Education from The University of Delaware in 1958. After her graduation from college, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she taught elementary school and loved her fourth grade. While living there, she met her husband Thomas Rae; they were married for 49 years until his death in 2015.She settled with her family in Old Greenwich CT in 1970, and lived there until 2013 when she moved to Darien. Known for her quick wit, bright smile and contagious laughter, she was a wonderful wife and mom, and had many friends in the Greenwich area. She loved long walks at Tod’s Point, chatting with everyone she met, volunteering within the community, and as a true animal lover she loved working for her many animal and pet charities.Mrs. Rae is survived by her daughter Lisa Rae Koorbusch, L...
Monday, February 20, 2017Meriden on Oct. 10, 1927 to the late Joseph and Rose Saverine Papallo.Mrs. Sestito was a graduate of Darien High School, Class of 1945. She was employed at the Shepard Insurance Agency in Stamford until raising her family. She will be remembered as a very caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving children, Joseph L. Sestito of Darien, Lawrence R. Sestito and his wife Susan of Darien and Catherine Lombardo and her husband Michael of Trumbull, as well as her grandchildren Dana and Michael Lombardo, Lindsay Miller and her husband Elliot and Lauren Sestito. Also surviving is her sister Jean Cosway of MO and several nieces and nephews.Besides her parents, Mrs. Sestito was predeceased by her husband Dominick V. Sestito and her sisters Evelyn Vitti and Louise Rondano.A Mass of Christian Burial was held St. Thomas More RC Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien on Sunday. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Hecker Avenue, Darien. He was manager of CVS Pharmacy in Stamford, Conn. before moving to Maine. He was employed by Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan, Target in Augusta and was working at Maine General ACH in Augusta at the time of his death. Jeffrey was a former member of the Sidney Fire Department and a member of N.R.A. Jeffrey loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He was so happy to be living in Maine. Surviving are his parents of Brewster, NY.; his fiancée Kirstie Ingmundson of Sidney, and a brother Tom Gusmano of Old Saybrook, Conn.An online guestbook may be signed and memories shared at www.lawrybrothers.com.
