Monday, April 03, 2017LORDSTOWN - John James Ewankowich, 70, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1947, in Youngstown, the son of the late John and Mabel (Smith) Ewankowich. On Aug. 28, 1971, John married the former Patricia Percich. They shared 45 wonderful years of marriage and many happy memories. He was a 1965 graduate of Chaney High School. John retired from US Steel and worked part time for Lordstown Maintenance Department. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his grandchildren. Memories of John will be cherished by his loving wife, Patricia Ewankowich of Lordstown; two daughters, Erica D. (Gerald) Ellis of Hartstown, Pa. and Nichol B. (William) Bankey of Newton Falls; sister Florence Lantz of Girard; and six grandchildren. Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by two daughters, Jessica Leah and Darlene Elizabeth Ewankowich; and one brother. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
Monday, March 27, 2017Lynda was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Ohio Education Association, North Eastern Ohio Education Association and the Howland Retired Teachers. She was also a member of the Trumbull New Theatre. Lynda was a certified paramedic and was also an EMT instructor for many years, belonging to the Johnston Township Volunteer Fire Department. She was also a lifeguard on the Ohio side of Pymatuning State Park. Lynda enjoyed traveling abroad, doing ceramics and belonged to a ceramics club. She also enjoyed china painting and making dolls with her mother, Irene. Lynda was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren and was a member of its Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of the St. Benedictine Auxiliary of the Benedictine Monastery at SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. Lynda also attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McDonald, where her brother is pastor. Lynda will be deeply missed by her loving family, her husband of 37 years, George Allen Grove, whom she married June 23, 1979; two daughters, Sarah (Michael) Muccio of Clinton, N.Y. and Rebecca (Robert) Riley of Norfolk, Va.; her siblings, Dr. Deborah Brienz of Duncan, British Columbia, Fr. Edward R. Brienz Jr., pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McDonald, and Veronica Barker of Los Angeles; and two grandsons, Michael ?Tony? Riley and Edward ?E.T.? Muccio. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Martha L. Saltzmann Grove; and brothers-in-law, Ted (Carol) Grove, Richard ?Rick? (Sharon) Grove, Ronald (Cindy) Grove and James (JoAnn) Grove; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family. Besides her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her father-in-law, George E. Monday, March 27, 2017Together Again? MINERAL RIDGE ? Frances K. (Cronkshaw) Lingo, 81, passed away on Saturday afternoon, March 25, 2017, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. Frances was born Dec. 17, 1935, in South Kingston, R.I., a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Murney) Cronkshaw. She was a 1953 graduate of South Kingston High School and continued her education at Johnson and Wales Business College, graduating with honors in the secretarial program in Providence, R.I. She found employment at the University of Rhode Island working as the dean?s secretary. She met her husband, James Brawdy Lingo Sr., while he was on the U.S. Navy Base in Rhode Island and got married July 31, 1955, and started their family together. After she got married, they moved to the Mineral Ridge area with her family and was a proud homemaker, taking care of her two children, Cynthia and James Lingo Jr. She was a member of the Happy Chatter Club. After her husband's death, Joan moved to Branford, CT. Joan's faith and her family were her most prized possessions.
