There will be a visitation after the service and prior to the entombment in the Crestview Garden Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.Catherine was born November 2, 1929 to Melton D. and Mable M. (Taylor) Fox in Decatur, Texas. After moving to the area in 1942, she met and married Millard C. Porter, Jr. on February 7, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Catherine worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Joe and Bill Hale in their Oil Field Supply business and retired in 2005. Catherine was a member of Fain Presbyterian Church for many years. A lover of flowers, she was a member of the Red River Orchid Society and the African Violet Society.Catherine was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived her loving husband of 70 years, M.C. Porter, Jr.; her two sons, Rev. Paul E. Porter and wife Suzanne of Bluff Dale, Texas and Terry L. Tuesday, April 18, 2017TN and continued his musical endeavors with a multi-faceted entertainment career. He began his public school teaching career when he served as the band director at Washington High School in Crestview, FL. Otis returned to Chattanooga and served as the band director at Orchard Knob Junior High School. Upon leaving Chattanooga, he served as the band director at Fillmore Senior High School in Los Angeles, CA.Otis was regarded as a gifted “Musician’s” musician, who played several instruments. He produced and recorded numerous jazz renditions throughout his lifetime, as well as a book of quotes. Otis had made plans to produce memoirs of his life experiences with his daughter Felicia as his co-author along with his son Otis III assisting him in the publishing of several pieces of his music library prior to his demise.Otis had an exciting and productive career as a music and voice teacher, jazz pianist and writer. He performed in various venues across the United States, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Throughout his musical career, Otis played with several notable musicians including the late Ray Charles, the late Dizzy Gillespie, the late Lionel Hampton, the late Duke Ellington, the late Count Basie, Sonny Craves and numerous other musicians and entertainers.The most popular movie in which Otis participated was “Hello Dolly” as the pianist in the Louis Armstrong’s Orchestra. Monday, April 03, 2017Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Gonzales officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday April 5, 2017 at Hampton Vaughn Funeral Home.Marshall was born on August 10, 1921 in Archer County, Texas to W.O. Haigood and Lucy (Seigler) Haigood. He grew up in Clay County, Texas, and married the love of his life, Doris Whitaker, on November 5, 1942 in Bluegrove, Texas. Marshall was route supervisor for Taystee Bread Company where he worked for 41 years, retiring in 1983. He was a devoted member and deacon of Southside Baptist for 74 years. Marshall loved playing a competitive game of 42, was a golfer with 3 hole-in-ones, and was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys Marshall was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years; his parents; sister Pauline Brister; brothers Millard Haigood, Ewell Haigood, R.D. Haigood, and Bobby Haigood.
