Monday, June 19, 2017NEW PORT RICHEY — Pasco County commissioners revealed a plan to earmark $2.2 million for Moon Lake Road improvements during a budget workshop Tuesday morning.That money will go toward adding shoulders to the entire stretch of the roughly 5-mile thoroughfare as well as signs warning of curves ahead.During the public comment portion of the workshop, family members of two River Ridge High School students killed in a July car wreck on the road — Courtney Little and Kimberlee Markou — pleaded with commissioners to do something about the roadway.“We know this road is dangerous; you have all the numbers and you can’t argue with that,” said Stacy Little, Courtney’s stepmother. “We lost our child. We feel like she didn’t have to die this way. Our lives are changed forever. Our children’s lives are changed forever. Monday, December 26, 2016NEW PORT RICHEY (FOX 13) - A couple on the hunt for a new home made a bizarre discovery at a foreclosed property on Wednesday. They found a makeshift urn holding a man's remains sitting outside the front door."When I looked down, I saw this box. I couldn't believe it," said Kimberly Hower, whose curiosity led her to push the box lid open with her foot. "I looked down and I saw the word 'cremated.'"Inside the box of ashes on the ground outside a mobile home on Kiowa Drive was a cremation certificate with the name "Steve J. Reed."Hower searched the name on Google. The first result was an obituary in the Tampa Bay Times for Steve J. Reed of New Port Richey. He was described as, "a retired time keeper and field boss at Reed's Vegetable Farm" in Minnesota.According to the obituary, Reed was living in New Port Richey when he passed away on December 24, 2005, at 59-years-old. Hower said she has no idea how his remains ended up abandoned."Somebody knew him. He might have had siblings somewhere. I...

The sun and the moon set on Bill’s beloved grandgirls, Ashley Lassy, Abby Jones, Chloe Lassy and Amanda Hungerford. He also leaves his beloved daughter-in-law, Carina Lassy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Last but not least, Bill leaves his beloved Boston Terrier puppies, Clark and Sadie, who were always by his side, whether at home or work or riding in the Austin-Healey.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol. She married Harry in 1943.
