Crematory of downtown Murray is in charge of arrangements. William ‘Bill’ HinaCoach William “Bill” Hina of Henderson, Kentucky, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Cornerstone Hospice of Love in Tavares, Florida.He was born Dec. 18, 1935, in Sturgis, Kentucky, to Ernest and Mary Hina.He was a football coach with an outstanding record, starting his career at the old Henderson City High when it won the football state championship in 1959. Following his success at City High, the young football coach moved on to be one of the new coaches at Murray State University, where he played his college ball. He coached at MSU for 19 years.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ada Ruth “Scotti” Hina, his parents, five brothers and one sister.Coach Hina is survived by his wife of 39 years, Charlsie Hina of Henderson; a daughter, Mary Martha Delp of Manassas, Virginia; brothers Glen and Harry, both of Owensboro, and Henry of Sturgis; a granddaughter and two great-grandsons.A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sturgis.
