Monday, February 20, 2017Steven D. Elliott, 55, of Winter Garden, Florida, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017. Steve enlisted in the United States Navy after completing high school. In 2014, he had the honor of designing the Winter Garden Police Department’s Memorial for Fallen Officers.Steve is survived by his loving wife, Lori; daughter, Christine; brothers, John, Doug (Mary), Frank (Tammy) and Vince; and sister, Leticia. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Katherine; and brothers, Mark, Brian and Michael.A gathering of Steven’s family and friends was held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Winter Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Steve’s name to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. She was a homemaker but also volunteered as a Pink Lady with the former Memorial Hospital in Waycross.In addition to volunteering her time at the hospital, she would also create gift baskets to welcome people to the neighborhood. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and cross stitching. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.She was the daughter of the late James Ansel and Blanche Corbett Byrd. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Smith O’Neal.Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Hinson, of Columbia, S.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl, Jr. and Lynne O’Neal, of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Wanda Byrd, of Blackshear; three grandchildren, Kelly Hinson, Patrick O’Neal and Katie O’Neal; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery.Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to a charity of the giver’s choosing.Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registe...

Surrounded by family, Mary left this earth in the same manner she lived her lifewith peace, dignity, and grace.Mary was born May 24, 1930 in Marietta, Ohio. She now joins her husband, Robert (Bob) McGrew, her father and mother, John J. and Glena C. Weihl, and her two brothers, John C. and David U. Weihl, who preceded her in death.After attending Marietta College, Mary married Bob McGrew of Bartlett, Ohio in 1948. They were married nearly 41 years until Bob's death in 1989. She is survived by 5 children: Heather Loden of Springfield, Tennessee; Mike McGrew (Edie) of Fresno, California; Ben McGrew of Reno, Nevada; Matt McGrew (Teresa) of Windermere, Florida; and Chris McGrew of Sacramento, California.
