November 27, 1999; two daughters – Katy Hultz and husband Nic and Carly Passet and husband Ryan all of Georgetown, Ohio; two step-children – Tara Thompson and husband Bruce of Bainbridge, Ohio and Tyler Meyer and wife Stephanie of Georgetown, Ohio; three granddaughters – Alexandra, Sydney and Ava Arn; three step-grandchildren – Caleb, Hayleigh and Logan Thompson; two sisters – Valerie Johnson of Georgetown, Ohio and Chris Adamson and husband Daryl of Mt.Orab, Ohio; two brothers – Jan Johnson of Georgetown, Ohio and Lucky Johnson and wife Marilyn of Cincinnati, Ohio and many other family and friends.Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Georgetown Church of Christ, 149 Hamer Road, Georgetown, Ohio 45121. Scott Hennig will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. -9:00 P.M. Friday, November 18, 2016 at the church. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. Northhampton, MA. Ruth was assigned to Washington, D.C. to Navy Dept. OP-20-G during World War II and later to the Naval Communcations Annex. In July 1945 Ruth was transferred to Port Blakely, WA on Bainbridge Island in Puget Sound to the USN Radio Supplementary Station. She was released on points Jan 6, 1946 as a lieutenant. In August of 1946 Ruth began working for the US Navy as a civilian cryptanalyst. In September 1948 she married Cdr. Rudolph E. Veverka, USN. Ruth and Rudy lived and traveled according to Rudy's various assignments as Commanding Officer, USN, in Arlington, VA, Lincoln, NE, New Orleans, LA, and San Diego, CA. Prior to entering the service, Ruth taught high school for two years in Fort Ashby, WV, and Bunker Hill, WV. Ruth also worked as a Librarian for School District 66 in Omaha, NE from 1970-1988. Ruth was a devoted wife and mother. She was a sensitive, gentle and gracious woman who loved art, music, and books. Ruth was a woman of remarkable strength, who met any challenge with courage and faith in our Lord. She was a member of the American Red Cross, 1953-56, Navy Relief Society of San Diego, 1959-61, and a member of the American Association of University Women. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Syracuse, NY. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Karen Elizabeth Veverka of Skaneateles, NY; nephew Micheal Tonry; niece Senga Tonry Anen; goddaughter Sarah Veverka Fletcher of Fresno, CA; and many grand nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home in Skaneateles, NY, Thursday, October 13th from 4-7pm, and at Browns Funeral Home, Martinsburg, WV, on October 15th, 10-11am. A native of Greenville and a longtime resident of the Nicholtown community, Sizemore had joined the Navy at the age of 19.He was a Stewart's Mate Second Class and served on vessels stationed in Bainbridge, Maryland and Norfolk, Virginia, according to Madden.Sizemore said he worked as a cook and served officers. Sizemore married Daisy Porter in 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy on Feb. 3, 1946.He and his new bride returned to Greenville and became the parents of 10 children.Sizemore worked at car dealerships in Greenville (Collins Cadillac, Judson T. Minyard and Bradshaw Automotive) for a total of 57 years.He retired at the age of 77.Madden and another of Sizemore’s daughters, Phyllis Oliver, had praised their father’s work ethic following the pinning ceremony."He taught us to work for what you want.
