He was born on December 22, 1948 in Rockmart, Georgia. He was the son of the late Golden and Ruth Hutcheson Ingram.Mr. Ingram is survived by his brothers and sister-in-law, Jack Ingram and Harold and Brenda Ingram; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Marshall Ballew; several nieces and nephews also survive.Mr. Ingram is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bobby Ingram, JW Ingram, Ed Ingram, Billy Ingram and sister, Frances Ingram.The funeral service for Mr. Wayne Ingram was conducted Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Smith & Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Monday, November 21, 2016MIDLOTHIAN, IL — Wake and funeral arrangements have been set for a 17-year-old Bremen High School senior who was fatally struck by a car last week.Visitation for Mark Gorman will be held Monday, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Hickey Memorial Chapel, 4201 147th St. in Midlothian. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Gorman was walking home Thursday evening after having just received a Boy Scout award. He was hit around 9 p.m. near 147th Street and Karlov Avenue. His death was ruled an accident. Monday, August 22, 2016His plane, nicknamed "Shoot the Works," was involved in missions to Russia. In Germany, the plane bombed targets in Berlin, aircraft plants in Munich, a ball bearing factory in Schweinfurt, docks in Bremen and Kiel and communications infrastructure in Paris and Brussels.After bombing an armament factory, Mr. Burdis and his division were given safe haven in Russia. But their location was betrayed and they watched from ditches as the German forces bombed their grounded planes.After flying 25 missions, Mr. Burdis was inducted into the "Lucky Bastards Club" — an apparent reference to the high chance that any mission could result in death. He went on to complete 10 more missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and other honors.After his discharge, Mr. Burdis attended the University of Pittsburgh and studied business before entering the automotive industry, working for Ford Motor Co., Saab, Datsun and Toyota. He married Anna Marie Hopbell, and the couple had six children before divorcing.In the late 1950s, Mr. Burdis married Blanche E. Wilson, who had become Ford Motor Co.'s first woman dealer in 1956. Mrs. Burdis continued in the car business for more than 40 years before retiring in 1992 as controller and partner at an Oldsmobile dealership in Glen Burnie.In the early 1970s, Mr. and Mrs. Burdis moved to Columbia, where he worked for Central Atlantic Toyota until retiring as vice president in 1993. There, he assisted dealerships with all aspects of their business operations, from inventory and sales to hiring."He would advocate for the dealer back to the franchiser," Mrs. Broccolino said. "He would advocate for their cause and help them improve their business operations so they could be more profitable."Carol Smith, Mr. Burdis's executive assistant for about 18 years, said he was known as one of the "founding fathers" of Toyota's mid-Atlantic operations and that he helped expand Toyota's reach when foreign-made cars were less commonplace."He made it his personal goal to make sure that Toyota was successful in this area," Mrs. Smith said. "He knew that Toyota was a good product, he knew it was going to be successful but it was going to take the right people to put it out there for the public to see."Mrs. Smith said that Mr. Burdis was known as "Big Joe" and that he oversaw at least 200 dealerships in the region. Monday, July 25, 2016SUN PRAIRIE - Ellen Margarete Czygan (nee Reusse), age 95, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2016. She was born to Rudolf and Helena Reusse on Oct. 27, 1920, in Bremen, Germany. She moved to the United States in 1947, after the birth of her daughter Barbara. She spent most of her time in Chicago, where she was a sales associate in a furniture store.She enjoyed morning golf before work and shopping at her favorite chocolate store that sold delicious German chocolate. She also enjoyed her time at her summer home in Tomahawk, Wis. She traveled extensively when she lived in Germany. She and her daughter also traveled and went on many cruises together. Her favorite place was Italy.Ellen was preceded in death by her mother; father; brother, Heinz Otto; and her daughter, Barbara. Thank you to Sun Prairie Health Care Center for their care of Ellen over the past nine years.A Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at the TUSCHEN-NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie.
