Monday, April 03, 2017William and Edith (Fowler) Miller, Sr. Karen was a 1964 graduate of Bristol High School and was employed as a cashier at Shaffers Market for several years. She also worked for a time at the Buena Vista Cafe and she sold Avon products.She married Martin P. Emerine on April 10, 1965, they shared 52 years of marriage and many happy memories together, he survives.Karen enjoyed crocheting, gardening and making scrubbies. She was a loving and outgoing lady who dearly loved her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.Besides her beloved husband, Karen is survived by a son, Jeff Emerine, of Bristolville; a brother, Alan (Sharon) Miller of Akron; a sister, Joyce (John) Sines, of Rineyville, Kentuky and a granddaughter, Alexis McCrimmon of Bristolville. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Wendy Emerine; a brother, William Miller, Jr and a sister, Diane Currence.Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Carl W. Monday, November 28, 2016Ethel Mae (Renshaw) McConnell in Saline County. On June 5, 1951, he married Betty Shea, and she survives. McConnell was a farmer and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Buena Vista Community Church, but recently attended Little Chapel Church.He is survived by his wife, Betty McConnell, of Harrisburg; daughter, Sally, and husband, Jeff Phipps, of Harrisburg; sons-in-law, Elvis Riley of Harrisburg and Mike Hernandez of Galatia; one sister, Betty Mazikas of Raleigh; and a sister-in-law, Lucy McConnell of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Jerad and wife, Connie Hernandez, Kari and husband, Cory Ellet, Jason and wife, April Douglas, David Riley, Adam Riley, Emily Phipps, Amy and husband, Nick Mott, and Matthew Phipps along with four great-grandchildren.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters, Linda Hernandez and Brenda Riley, three brothers, Eugene, Raymond and Harold McConnell and one great-grandchild.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with Jeff Rush and Darrell Eisenhauer officiating. Monday, October 24, 2016Brass Hanger Cleaners and Heritage Funeral Home.Greenwood Cemetery, also referred to as the Pascagoula, Catholic, Lutheran, Sailor, Beach, Protestant or City of Pascagoula Cemeteries, is located on Buena Vista Street. All of these separate identities were merged around the turn of the century into one city cemetery called Greenwood. It contains numerous unmarked graves. The first recorded burial there was in 1848.The entire cemetery has been surveyed and resurveyed over the years. In 1968, tombstone inscriptions were compiled by Mrs. Lester Scheffler, Maida Wright and Rita Krebs. Julian Davis completed a survey of the old section in 1993, preceded by a survey of two additions in 1992 by Betty Rodgers and Katie Steen, and in 1996 an update by Steen and Harry McDonald Sr., after a review of hundreds of obituaries. Margaret Hollister Wolfe and Else Martin subsequently added burials from 1997 to 2003. All are included in "Cemeteries of Jackson County, Mississippi," a major 187 page, hardbound work published in 2008 by JCHGS. It may be purchased at the Pascagoula Public Library's Local Genealogy and History Department for $30, or by sending an order to JCHGS, P. O. Box 984, Pascagoula, MS 39568. Brumm, age 84, of Storm Lake, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.??Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Sept. 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.John Roman Brumm was born July 18, 1932 in Meyer, the son of Lawrence and Sabina (Mullenbach) Brumm.As an infant, John was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer where he was later confirmed.John attended school at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Meyer.On Aug. 18, 1953, John was united in marriage to Mary Teresa Kasel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They were blessed with 10 children: Karen, Darryl, Donna, Scott, Carmen, Bruce, Nancy, Kurt, Mark and Terry.Throughout his life, John was a hard worker. He began by farming with his father for a few years while living in Meyer. John took up driving truck, taking many long hauls as well as delivering U.S. Mail to Des Moines, hauling gravel, livestock and auto parts.
