Monday, April 03, 2017Hubert JacksonMr. Hubert Edward Jackson, 83, of Calhoun, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his home. He was born in Cartersville on March 4, 1934, son of the late Bernard and Bessie Reed Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Jackson Dodd in 2016; his grandson, Bryce Dodd in 2016; a sister, Sarah Jackson Purvis; and a brother, Johnny Jackson.Hubert was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Shaw Industries.He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Hazel Silvers Jackson; his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Sharon Jackson of Abingdon, Va.; brothers, Loyd Jackson, Hoyt Jackson, and Hilburn Jackson; grandchildren, Eric (Catherine) Jackson of Chesapeake, Va, Grant Dodd, Alex Dodd, and Suzanne House Roberts; great-grandchildren, Thomas Jackson, Charlotte Jackson, and Aria Dodd; and a special friend, Jennifer Bailey.Services to honor the life of Mr. Hubert Edward Jackson were held Saturday, March 18 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. A native of Bartow County, she was born on Jan. 28, 1945, the daughter of the late Louie J. Boston and Melow Barrett Boston. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her only child, Madison William (Matt) Adams who died on December 1, 1986 at the age of 15, who was her only angel son in this walk of life. She was also preceded in death by her sisters; Gladys Evans, Daisy B. Howell; her brother, David Boston; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. George Adams; her sister-in-law, Sheila Adams; her special aunts, Alice Barrett Croy and Martha Boston Cline; her special grandmother, Leila Barrett and special friend, Nancy Mitchell Whitley. Monday, August 29, 2016Mrs. Glenda Jo McEntyre Page, age 79 of Rome passed away Friday August26, 2016 at her daughters residence, in Cartersville.Mrs. Page was born July 30, 1937, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Joel Denver McEntyre and Nina Braden McEntyre. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She was retire from K Mart after 24 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Carle Page in May 2, 2006, a brother, Terry Denver McIntyre.Survivors include her children, Jeffery (Donna) Page, Ooletawah, TN; Carl (Raynell Morris) Page, Rome; Melanie McDermott, Cartersville; sister, Nell (Larry) Baker, Douglasville; grandchildren, Matthew (Ashleigh) Page, Kathleen(Tyler) Lane, Thomas Pulliam, and David Pulliam, great grandchildren, Braden Page, Annabelle Page, Isaac Page, and Maggie Lane, several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M.
