Tuesday, April 18, 2017Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral graveside service for Mrs. Shirley E. Phillips.Mr. SummervilleMr. James Leon (Joe) Summerville, age 71, of Cedartown, GA passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at his residence following a lengthy illness.He was born in Buchanan on Jan. 5, 1946, a son of Chalmus Summerville and Frankie Weaver Summerville.Mr. Summerville spent his childhood and early adult life in Haralson County, later making Polk County his home for the past 28 years. He had a love for coin collecting and restoring old vehicles.He spent his working career at Goodyear Mill where he retired with over 30 years of service. Mr. Summerville was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and also attended the Victory Baptist Church over the last several years.He was preceded in death by his father, Chalmus Summerville; daughter, Sherry Dawn Summerville; son, Bryan Summerville; sister, Lucy Jean Carter; and brother, Curtis Summerville.Survivors include his loving wife, Glenda Summerville, of Cedartown to whom he was married on March 24, 1989; daughter, Jamie Charlene Aaron and her husband Jeff, Canton; three grandchildren: Dustin Allen Barber, Crystal LeeAnn Childers and Zachary Bryan Barber; one great granddaughter, Keely Barber; mother, Frankie Crawford, Rockmart; four brothers: Jimmy Summerville and his wife Sarah, Bremen, Doug Summerville and his wife Lynn, Rockmart, Wayne Summerville and his wife Vera, Cedartown and Cecil Summerville, Bremen; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services were held Monday, April 10, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Snapp and Rev. Eddie Davidson officiating.Interment followed in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.Pallbearers included: Dustin Barber, Zachary Barber, Brad Summerville, Barry Summerville, Casey Childers and Brandon Sheriff.The Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Mr. James Leon (Joe) Summerville.Mr. IngramMr. Wayne Ingram, age 68, of Rockmart, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in a Rockmart health facility.
