Velma Marie (Sappenfield) (Limbaugh) Lock, a former resident of Jefferson City, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2017, in Chatsworth, Ca. Velma was born on December 20, 1926, in Henley, Mo. to John Rasho Sappenfield and Minnie Ethel (Jones) Sappenfield, both of whom preceded her in death. Velma was the youngest of seven children. She was married on August 31, 1945, to Webster S. Limbaugh, Jr. They had two daughters, Linda (James) Yorio of Augusta, Ga., and Vicki (Michael) Palatas of Chatsworth, Ca. Webster and Velma were married for 37 years. In 1984 she married Clifford Lock, whom she had known since childhood. After graduating from Eugene High School, she taught school for a year, receiving the teacher of the year award! Over the years, she was the assistant manager for Sears Mail Order stores in Jefferson City, Independence, and Clinton, Mo. She was a legal secretary, then an auditor for the Missouri Tax Commission for several years before retiring from the Missouri Bar Association in 1989. Tricia Poindexter of Calhoun, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters-in law, Arleigh Daniel of Cartersville, Donald and Marjorie Daniel of Calhoun, Larry and Reba Daniel of Chatsworth; nephews and spouses, Craig and Jo Ann Daniel of Arnoldsville and Michael and Elyse Daniel of Bogart; other relatives and many friends.Mickey was a veteran and was retired from AT&T. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club and was a former member of Belmont Baptist Church in Calhoun. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed singing as a hobby, recording some of his music to share with family and friends.A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, at Belmont Baptist Church Family Life Center in Calhoun. The family will receive visitors following the service. On Wednesday, March 29, a service to celebrate Mickey’s life will be held in Winter Haven. "Grizz" Grizzle, 61, of Chatsworth died at 11:39 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 12, 2017) after a hard-fought battle with illness, and with his family by his side, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday (Jan. 16, 2017) at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City. Burial will be at Wiley Cemetery in Colfax. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Mr. Grizzle was born July 10, 1955, in Bloomington, a son of Myron and Lois O'Brien Grizzle. He married Kay L. Tauber on March 14, 2004, in Florida.
