Monday, February 06, 2017Gunnery Sergeant Robert Frank Mobley, U.S. Marine Corp (Retired), 78, of Fort Gaines, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at home. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 6, 2017, at 11 A.M. CST, at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeff Hines will officiate and burial will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. CST with full military honors and Chapman Funeral Home directing. Visitation for Mr. Mobley will be held prior to the service, from 10 A.M. until service time. Born June 16, 1938, in Eufaula, Alabama, Mr. Mobley was the son of the late Robert William Mobley and Bertha Mae Blackmon Deal. Mr. Mobley was a retired Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marines and was a veteran of the Viet Nam War. He also served in Lebanon and was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon and many medals. Mr. Mobley was preceded in death by his grandsons C.J. Hatfield, Timothy Carroll Reese and his great granddaughters Jordan Marie Doughtie and Annslie Faye Duncan.
