Thule, Greenland Air Force Bases as an air traffic controller. Following his service, he worked as a Federal Aviation Administration controller in Jacksonville Center and Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Ga. In addition to his career with the FAA , he successfully owned and operated several successful businesses which he sold and in 1975, he moved his family to Indian Pass Fl. Britt loved the coast where continued to prosper as a business owner and real estate developer, as long as it did not interfere with his time on the water.His love for travel was threaded throughout his life and enjoyed telling stories of his trip where his packed his young family into a pop up camper and drove to Alaska. Upon retiring, Britt spend much of his time between Franklin, North Carolina and his beloved home on the Chipola River.Britt was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Maggie Pickett and his sisters, Sally Augusta Smith and Phoebe Ann Banks.He is survived by his two sons Boyd Pickett (Paula) and Ronald Pickett (Leisa) of Port St. Joe, FL; nine grandchildren Kimberly Shoaf (Andy), Grayson Pickett, Kyle Pickett (Lacey Warren), Jeremy Baxley, Emily Baxley, Christian Pickett, Kerigan Pickett, Dell Pickett and Katie Pickett; and two great granddaughters Eleanor and Maggie Shoaf; step-brother TW Bodiford (Sandy) of Prescott Arizona; former wife Wyvonne Pickett and step son J.J. Hattaway; and special nieces and nephews.A memorial service was held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at The First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe.
