Monday, January 30, 2017Survivors include two sons, Michael R. Ware of Lawson, Missouri and Patrick L. Ware of Versailles, Missouri; two daughters-in-law, Donna K. Ware of Versailles, Missouri and Jeri Ware of Garden City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Ruth Russell of Kansas City, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Nadine was a homemaker until moving to Versailles, where she and her husband managed the Fountain Apartments for over thirty years. She was a member of West Union Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing rummy and her shopping trips with the girls.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles. Burial will be at a later date in Versailles Cemetery. Monday, October 17, 2016Religious Freedom Restoration Act.The commission sued the the family-owned business in 2014 after it informed Aimee Stephens that what she was "proposing" was unacceptable and fired her from its Garden City location. Stephens, formerly Anthony Stephens, had been an employee since 2007.Cox in a 56-page ruling stated EEOC had failed to challenge the funeral home's gender-specific dress code, which requires male employees to wear a pant suit and female employees to wear a skirt suit. Title VII, an amendment in the Civil Rights Act of 1964, prohibits discrimination based on sex, race, age, religion or national origin, but does not include gender identity.This Detroit case is the second of its kind filed by the EEOC nationally, both for transgender employees who had presented as women.
