Monday, June 26, 2017Funeral services for Iona Roth, age 101, of Wisner, NE will be on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in West Point, NE, with a luncheon to follow. Interment will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Pender, NE after the luncheon. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE and will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at church.Iona passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Wisner Care Center.Iona Ida Roth, nee Wascher, was born July 18, 1915 to Ernst and Bertha Wascher, nee Zipf, at Beemer, EN. She lived with her parents on a farm three miles south of Beemer during her childhood.Iona received her education both secular and religious at the Immanuel Lutheran School four miles south of Beemer and received her high school diploma after taking an extension course from LaSalle University in Chicago later in life.Rev. M. Leimer baptized and confirmed Iona in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer. In this same church she was married to Ervin R. Roth by Rev.

The Memorial Service will be followed by a Gathering of Family and Friends. Interment will be at a later date. Mrs. Verrette passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at her residence in Rayne, LA.She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Robert L. Swiderski, died peacefully on Thursday June 1, 2017 at Middlebury Convalescent Home.Mrs. Swiderski was born on June 2, 1926 in Scranton, PA a daughter of the late Michael and Pauline (Yelega) Magas and had worked for many years as an office manager for Dr. Brennan. Betty is survived by her daughter, Lorene Terry and her husband Al; her sons, Richard Swiderski and his wife Sandra and Roger Swiderski and his wife Leslie; her brother, Raymond Magas; her sisters, Jane LeBlanc, Elaine Tedesco and Helena Alegi and her husband John; her grandchildren, Al Terry, Jr., Michael Terry, Kate Jefferson, Matt Terry and Carrie Swiderski; her great grandchildren, Dylan, Julia, Alaina, Olivia, Freya and Thor; her sisters in law, Helen Magas and Eleanor Magas and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brothers, Edward, Michael and Leo Magas.
