He was a member of Chattanooga Valley Presbyterian Church and a member of the Alhambra Shrine and the Highlanders.He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sanford and Edna Ruth Deitricht Taylor and brother, Perry Taylor.He is survived by his wife, Mona Miller Taylor of Ringgold, GA.; three children, Steve (Joy) Taylor of Soddy Daisy, TN., Gerald Taylor of Marietta, GA., and Christy (Dan) Bible of King George, Virginia; five step-children, Sherry Lea Wilson of Cleveland, TN., Tracy Carter of Ringgold, GA., Susan Fazio of Chattanooga, Jay Wilson of Chattanooga, and Scott (Rhonda) Gay of Rossville, GA.; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday January 14, 2017 in the funeral home chapel. H.H. “Punk” Blackburn. Larry was a member of Allen Memorial Church of Athens, TN, a lifetime member (46 years) of Athens Elks Lodge # 1927, and a member of Alhambra Shrine of Chattanooga for over 30 years. He was the retired owner of Blackburn Oil. An Avid Boater, he enjoyed long trips traveling by water and loved being a part of the Vol Navy for many years. Among his other hobbies he enjoyed drag racing, motorcycles, and shared a love for horses. Wilma Louise Rushing, 91, of Alhambra and formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 8:28 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra. She was born July 24, 1924 in Cumberland City, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Robert and Ollie (Carter) Dortch. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker and enjoyed her days of quilting.
