ALMA — Kevin Diss struggled to understand the loss of his friend and business partner, Lowell Ingram, in a tragic accident that happened while working on a semitrailer Tuesday at Pinnacle Foods in Effingham.“We started this joint venture a couple years ago,” said Diss of Diss Truck and Repair of Alma. “We built it from nothing.”Diss said Ingram, 59, of Alma sustained fatal injuries after the trailer they were working on together collapsed, pinning Ingram beneath.“I was underneath the trailer with him repairing a dolly leg,” said Diss. “We were down to the last bolt when I saw the trailer start to sway. The good dolly leg folded under.”He said they were working with two 20-ton jacks and a portable dolly leg to make sure the trailer had plenty of support, but somehow things went wrong.“We've done this 100 times,” said Diss. “It's something we do on a regular basis.”Diss described Ingram as a hard worker who couldn't say “no” to anyone. He worked seven days a week and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix.“He was the mechanic,” said Diss. “He did all the major work. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.Kent was born on December 2, 1964, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Albert Bernard and Christine May (Ochs) Einhorn. He married Gailene Michelle Lewis on May 31, 1986, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, Illinois; she survives. Kent graduated from Newton Community High School in 1983. He currently worked at Stevens Industries. Kent enjoyed spending time with his family, four-wheeler riding and deer hunting but his greatest joy came from his sons, whether it be watching them play their chosen sports or taking pride in their scholastic accomplishments. He loved his wife and boys with all his heart.Kent is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gail of Dieterich; four sons, Dylan of Charleston, Garrett, Austin and Kaden, all at home; mother, May Einhorn of Newton; sisters, Susie (Mark) Fitzmaurice of Newton, Delores (Jim) Tarr of Newton, Patsy (Rick) Street of Wheeler, Shirley (Donnie) Starwalt of Montrose, Carolyn Westendorf of Dieterich and Alberta (Linus) Willenborg of Effingham; brothers, Dennis (Debbie) of Newton, Duane Einhorn (Kathy Green) of Newton, Don of Newton, Bob (Kate) Einhorn of Teutopolis, and Harold (Sharon) of Newton.Kent was preceded in death by his father, brother Larry Joe Einhorn and father-in-law and mother-in-law Albert and Eunice Lewis.
