She was attending the University of Connecticut pursuing her Bachelors in Human Development and Family Services with a minor in Urban Studies. Sam was employed at Homewood Suites in Windsor Locks. She enjoyed knitting, reading, sudoko puzzles, fishing and hiking with family and friends. Samantha will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Debra (Bonfiglio) McDonald and her fiancé, Tony Brown of Enfield; her father, John McDonald, Jr. and Eunice Johnson of Barkhamsted; her sister, Karly McDonald of Windsor Locks; her brother, John McDonald, III of Barkhamsted; her paternal grandfather, John McDonald, Sr. of Barkhamsted; her boyfriend, Casey Perry of Windsor Locks; her aunts, Cindy Good and her husband, Steve, Geri Montgomery and her husband, John, Celeste Wilson and her husband, Chip; Debbie Sherwin and her wife, Kathy Beck and family and several cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. Monday, January 02, 2017Woolweaver's two children - 13-year-old son Chandler and 7-year-old daughter Kate Ashton - are being cared for by family members. Chandler's father died in 2015.Woolweaver graduated from Homewood High School, where she was a member of the Star-Spangled Girls, in 1997 and then attended UAB where she studied early childhood education. According to her LinkedIn profile, she had "over 19 years of experience in the real estate and banking industry, highly competitive, persuasive and ethical, able to achieve results others believed to be impossible."She started her career at Wachovia where she worked for six years, before becoming a small business banker at Regions in 2007. The next year, she became assistant vice president at Renasant Bank. In 2011, she became controller and director of operations at Orange Development Inc. in Birmingham and left there in January 2015."Connie was loved by a vast number of friends and family,'' according to her obituary Sunday in The Birmingham News. "She was a beautiful person inside and out and will be greatly missed.""Her honesty in work, amazing ability to accomplish many tasks at once, tireless energy to help in schools and community events that benefited others, and devotion to those in her life left many impressed and inspired all to do more for others,'' the obituary reads.Friends have started a GoFundMe to help raise money for Woolweaver's children, which already has reached nearly $22,000.Friends will also hold a celebration of life event for Woolseaver at Aloft hotel in downtown Homewood on Dec. 22.
