Monday, November 14, 2016June 10, 1951 at Big Bend. Roger was a graduate of Milan High School, class of 1956. On December 23, 1961 he was united in marriage to Donna May Groskreutz at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. This union was blessed with over 54 years of marriage.Roger served in the Army National Guard of Minnesota from 1956-1963. He also served in the Army Reserve from 1963-1964, receiving Honorable Discharges from both branches.In his earlier years, Roger worked for Larson Gravel and Mickelson Implement in Hancock. He was later employed by Haugen & Johnson Implement and Haugen & Halvorson Implement for many years. He then worked for the Payne Farms for a short time after that. Roger enjoyed antique tractors, restoring old tractors, and the outdoors.Roger is survived by his wife, Donna of Benson; children: Pamela (Duane) Matti of Stacy, Rodney of Princeton, and Ronald (Stephanie) of Richmond; daughter-in-law Tara Gilsrud of Bozeman, MT; two grandsons: Eben Matti of Stacy and Anders Matti of Austin, TX; brother, Palmer (Beth) of Montevideo and sister Janice (Duane) Anderson of Cottage Grove and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
