Hicks, 81, of Berea, passed away at his home April 2, 2017. Marvin, formerly of Monticello where he was very active in his community. He was born in Wayne County to the late Ellis M. and Elizabeth E. Hicks.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Maryann Hicks, two sisters, Ruby Jenkins and Martha Sue Thompson Eve.He was a retired coroner of Wayne County and former owner of Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.He is survived by his wife and caregiver Joyce Ramsey Hicks; four children Forrest (Susie) Hicks, Gordon (Marla) Hicks, Jill (Steve) Lawson, and Jan (Larry) Lewis; two stepchildren, Doug Ramsey and Deborah Chenault; four grandsons, Daniel Hicks, Matthew Hicks, Tyler Hicks, and Travis Lewis; two brothers, Fred Hicks, and Robertie (Doris) Hicks; and one sister, Gladys (Ott) Carpenter.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the New Charity Baptist Church at 2pm with Bro. Koger Ramsey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery. He died peacefully in the care of his nephew and niece, Jackie and Sherry Hacker. Larry was a Madison County native born March 14, 1948, son of the late James Watson and the late Gertrude Gatliff (Mama) Brock.Larry was an U. S. Army Vietnam War veteran, painter and handy-man. He was a member of the American Legion and an avid gardener, and had been a resident of Madison County all his life.Survivors include 5 siblings, Hazel O’Donnell (Harold), Virginia Elam, Monroe Brock, Lindsey Brock (Billie), and Mary Ellen Watson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to his parent she was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Walter Brock, Christine Goodrich, and Edna Spires.In accordance with Larry’s wishes no public service is scheduled. Burial will take place at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Madison County Memorial Gardens.Reppert Funeral Home and Cremation Service entrusted with arrangements. Jimmy was born on July 30, 1938 in Madison County, KY, and was the son of Edgar and Virginia Taylor Benton, both of whom preceded him in death.He was a 1958 graduate of Madison Central High School. Jimmy worked at Square D Company in Lexington, KY, and retired from Square D Company in Oxford, OH, after 36 years as a production manager. He also served in the National Guard. Saturday, April 08, 2017Abraham Musick and Sarah Lewis Musick to be in DAR where she served in several offices, including Regent of the Jane Randolph Jefferson Chapter from 1982-1984 and a sponsor for the Monticello chapter of CAR. In addition she was a charter member and President of the Sterling Chapter of the American Business Women's association in 1977. She was actively involved in the women’s UCT auxiliary, becoming state president for a year. She enjoyed helping others. She volunteered at the Sheltered Workshop and was the first to take a meal or send assistance when she knew about a need. In addition to her daughters, Velma is survived by her five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren: Jamie (Mahlon) Andrews, Dexter and Jimmy; John (Ruth) Yorio, Lily, Josiah, Eli and Caleb; Nick (Marissa) Palatas, Vienna; Phillip Palatas, Alex, Natalia, and Anora; and Cameron Palatas; and many nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Esther (Johnny) Engelbrecht, Euel (Grace) Sappenfield, Leora (Earl) Hoskins, Bonnie (Ralph) Hale, Roselyn (Walter) Hammond, John (Mildred) Sappenfield, and by her husbands, Clifford Lock and Webb Limbaugh. A Celebration of Velma’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Hickory Hill Baptist Church, 12729 United Road, Eugene, Mo. Burial and interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eugene, Mo. Friends and family are invited to a reception with Velma’s daughters from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Cliff Manor Inn, 722 Cliff Street, Jefferson City, Mo. She graduated from high school in Wayne County, Kentucky. Mildred worked at Belden, PRC, and in sales for Product Promotions. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years. Mildred loved to read.Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Edwin "Ray" Miller, to whom she was married in August 1949; daughter, Kimberly S. (Shon) Fisher of Greens Fork, Indiana; sons, Terry R.
