ROCK FALLS – Joyce A. Anderson, 78, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at home with her husband and her daughter at her side.Born June 8, 1938, in Prophetstown, she was a daughter of William and Flossie (Egert) Roselieb. She married Eugene A. Anderson on March 9, 1957, in Hooppole.Joyce worked at Lawrence Brothers for 25 years, and retired with her husband in 1998. She sewed clothes, bunnies and teddy bears constantly, and made snowmen at Christmas. Joyce loved her family. She was a quiet social butterfly, but always looked forward to the Lawrence Ladies Lunches, and get-togethers with classmates from Geneseo High School.Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Eugene of Rock Falls; a daughter, Carmen (Jason) Healy of Rock Falls; grandchildren, Rachel Carter of Georgia, Becky Carter of Iowa, Kyle Anderson of Rock Falls, and Timothy Harris of Arkansas; great-granddaughters, Allexxis Tavia and Emma of Georgia; two great-great grandsons; a sister, Sharon (Ronald) Olson of Prophetstown; two brothers, Ronald (Shirley) Roselieb and Gary Roselieb, both of Hooppole; a sister-in-law, Gloria Anderson of Sterling; and many nieces...

PROPHETSTOWN – Audrey Mae Sandrock, 82, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.She was born March 15, 1934, in Sterling, the daughter of Clarence and Alice (Hinrichs) Ackland. She married Carlyle Sandrock on Dec. 10, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. He died Oct. 20, 2012. They were blessed to have celebrated 61 happy years together and were the parents of four children. She was a supportive wife to Carlyle, and later in life, she returned to earn her licensed practical nurse degree. She enjoyed caring for others. Audrey also had worked at the former Hillcrest Green House in Prophetstown, Morrison Hospital, and Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was a member of West Hume Ladies, and First Lutheran Church and First Congregational Church, both in Prophetstown. Chad Fowkes, and his wife, Stacey of Sterling, and Cory Fowkes, and his fiancé, Kevin Bishop of Chicago; her daughter-in-law, Toni Fowkes of Prophetstown. Kathy was blessed with six grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, Michael, Gaije, Jeremy, and Robbi Fowkes, and two great-grandchildren, AJ and Anthony Fowkes. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda (Hedstrom) and Dennis Richards of Pirongia, New Zealand, Richard and Pamela Hedstrom of Rock Falls, and Marjorie (Hedstrom), and Dennis Burtlow of Prophetstown; her many beloved nieces and nephews; and countless “adopted children” she picked up along the way.Kathy was preceded in death by her eldest son, Brian Fowkes; her parents, Richard and Ruth Hedstrom; and her nephew, Benjamin Fowkes.During the final stages of her health struggle, she was comforted knowing she would be transitioning into the arms of these loved ones awaiting her.  A visitation and celebration of Kathy will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Sterling. Anderson, 78, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at home with her husband and her daughter at her side.Born June 8, 1938, in Prophetstown, she was a daughter of William and Flossie (Egert) Roselieb.
