Christ’s Church, Mendota. Burial of ashes will take place at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Merritt Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.Chick was born April 29, 1945 in Spring Valley to Delbert and Ethel (Perkins) Martin. She married Richard Becker on Sept. 30, 1967. He preceded her in death.Survivors include one daughter, Catherine (John) McDowell of Mendota; four grandchildren, Eve, Hope, Calvin and Cody; one great-grandchild, Caden; one brother, Donald (Dee) Martin of Belvidere; and two sisters, Marian (Dick) Steep of Ottawa and Jean (Ike) Plym of Florida.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son, Tony.Chick was employed by Casey’s General Store in Mendota for 23 years before her retirement. She enjoyed planting flowers, shopping and spending time with her grandkids and laughing with the many friends she made while working at Casey’s. She also loved traveling to Florida to spend time with her sisters.Memorials may be directed to Heritage Health, Christ’s Church or the donor’s choice.

SPRING VALLEY — Mary Rita Mason, 96, a lifelong resident of Spring Valley, and recent resident of Courtyard Estates of Bradford, passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, with family by her side in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in  Peoria.She was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Tiskilwa to Raymond A. and Mary Ellen (Barry) Smith. She married Donald R. “Mickey” Mason on Oct. 25, 1941, in Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. P.T. Walsh officiating.She attended Immaculate Conception School in Spring Valley and graduated as valedictorian of Hall High School, Class of 1938. She attended Brown’s Business College in LaSalle.She was employed by Central Finance Co., American Nickeloid Co. and provided secretarial support for her husband’s business, Mason’s Super Service Station.She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and Maria Society; St. Bede Mothers Club and Immaculate Conception School Mothers Club; and was a former American Legion Auxiliary member.She is survived by three daughters, Ellin (M...

PRINCETON — Lee George Williams, 93, of Princeton passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley.Lee was born to Charles and Zexa (Porch) Williams on Jan. 6, 1923, in Toluca. He was a graduate of LaRose Community High School. He married Katherine Louks on Jan. 23, 1947, in Dover.He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Lee was the owner and operator of McHenry Machine Company in Princeton for many years. He was a member of the Union Local 150 Crane Operators, the First United Methodist Church, Princeton Masonic Lodge, VFW, American Legion, Moose, Elks Lodge, Bureau County Farm Bureau, the Standard Club and Woodcrafters Unlimited Association.
