He was father to Tonia (Harrison) Kirby of Tolono, Bradley (DeeDee) Kirby of Champaign and Trina Kirby of Champaign. He was Papa Marv to three grandsons, Daniel Putman, Wesley Ramsay and Skyler Kirby, and two granddaughters, Lorena Murrin and Tarah Kirby.His father, Marvin Boyd Gaines, preceded him in death in 1998.His mother, Catherine Gaines, survives. He is also survivedby three sisters, Carolyn (Larry) Pike of Mahomet, Joanne(Mickey) Allison of Mattoon and Debbie (David) Douglas of Homer, as well as many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana.He was a passionate dog lover and Reese will surelymiss him.Donations can be made to assist veterans at the VA Hospital in Danville: VA Illiana Health Care System Voluntary Service, 1900 E.
