Monday, September 12, 2016PRINCETON — Lee George Williams, 93, of Princeton passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley.Lee was born to Charles and Zexa (Porch) Williams on Jan. 6, 1923, in Toluca. He was a graduate of LaRose Community High School. He married Katherine Louks on Jan. 23, 1947, in Dover.He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Lee was the owner and operator of McHenry Machine Company in Princeton for many years. He was a member of the Union Local 150 Crane Operators, the First United Methodist Church, Princeton Masonic Lodge, VFW, American Legion, Moose, Elks Lodge, Bureau County Farm Bureau, the Standard Club and Woodcrafters Unlimited Association. Lee loved to dance and spend time with his family, friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He is survived by one daughter, Pat (Dwight) Nelson of Princeton; two sons, Edward Williams of Amboy and John Williams of Princeton; a special friend, Rosemary Strenk of LaSalle; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Lee was preceded in death by his wife in 1988 and two brothers, Paul and Walter.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Norberg Memoria...
Monday, July 18, 2016Ole Miss before becoming an Industrial Engineer for Timex. Jim continued to work in manufacturing, transitioning from engineer to management. His time with Timex afforded an opportunity to live in Toluca, Mexico. Upon returning to the States, Jim used his new bilingual skills to enter the maquiladora industry managing plants in Nuevo Laredo and Matamoros, where he would spend the majority of his career until retirement. In his 30 plus years of plant management, Jim oversaw the manufacturing of everything from car parts, house shoes, school buses, watches, and more. By the time he retired in 2001, Jim had used that experience to start his own successful cottage sewing business supplying the automotive industry. When not at work, Jim enjoyed music, a family tradition, singing, playing the organ, guitar, and piano, reading, computer programming and games, and spending time with his family.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Darling Mouser Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the Fowler family asks that donations in Jim’s name be made to the Brownsville Society for the Performing Arts, 6700 Ruben M.
