Monday, June 19, 2017O’Rear, beloved father, son and brother, a 46 year-old resident of Chunchula passed away at his home on Sunday, April 23, 2017.Lance was a 1990 graduate of Satsuma High School and a 1994 graduate of Troy State University. During his work career, he was employed with the Mobile Police Department, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and CSX Railroad. Lance’s greatest joy in life was spending time hunting and fishing with his father, and he was an avid Auburn fan.He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Niota O’Rear and Gina Robinson.Lance is survived by his beloved children, Isabella “Izzy” O’Rear and Britton Lance O’Rear; parents, Ronnie and Eleanor O’Rear; sister, Tanya O’Rear Williamson (Aaron Tate); grandfathers, Banks O’Rear and James Robinson (Doreen); nephew and niece, Braxton Williamson and Breanna Williamson; mother of his children, Kathrina Jones O’Rear; and other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held in the chapel at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Friday, April 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. The family received friends on Thursday, April 27, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Saturday, June 10, 2017July 24, 2010; a brother, Edmund; sisters, Frances Zielke, Josephine Boekema and Justine Witucki.He is survived by his brother Paul (Carol Diederich) of Lake Orion; sisters, Louise Rybicki of Troy, Cecilia Chojnacki and Lucy (Albert) Chojnacki of Posen; and sister-in-law, Irene Kamyszek of Rogers City.Phil served proudly in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam with the operating engineers battalion. Upon his return home Phil’s favorite career involved selling and servicing school buses across the state and Midwest.Phil had a passion for classic cars and owned a ’58 Chevy Impala, a ’61 Chevy Bel Air Bubbletop and a ’65 Pontiac 2+2. He enjoyed socializing with car club members and was a regular fixture in Poppleton Park in Birmingham during the Dream Cruise in August as well as many cruise nights around the Metro Detroit area.Visitation was at the Coats Funeral Home in Waterford. Funeral was at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Waterford. Burial was at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.

He retired from General Motors in 1987 and was the owner and operator of BJ’s Lake and Restaurant in Hamersville, Ohio. Frank served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Monday, May 01, 2017Lincoln police can’t confirm man’s burns were related to shed fire last week at MacColl FieldLINCOLN – Questions remain unanswered following the death of a YMCA employee and a fire that destroyed a shed at the YMCA property at MacColl Field in Lincoln.Investigations are ongoing on two fronts: an early morning fire broke out in a shed at the YMCA last Monday, April 17, where lawnmowers and other field maintenance equipment were stored and the death of employee Kyle Andrews, 48, of Lincoln, who died three days later, after police confirmed he had burns.Capt. Philip Gould said there was no one on the scene when first responders arrived at about 3:40 a.m. last Monday, and flames were controlled in about 30 minutes. As of press time this week, Andrews’ death was not being connected to the shed fire, Gould said. “It’s something we cannot prove,” he said.Last Wednesday, Gould said, detectives from the department were conducting follow-up investigation work “unrelated to the (fire) scene at that time,” and had spoken with Andrews, when Lincoln officers reported Andrews had burns and needed medical attention.He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, and died Thursday morning, April...
