Veterans and their families can get a free bus tour of the Great Lakes National Cemetery courtesy of the William Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors in Royal Oak and Utica.Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly is one of only two such cemeteries in the state where service veterans can be buried without paying.“There is no charge for veterans, their spouses or dependent children to be buried at the cemetery,” said Michael Lope of Sullivan funeral homes in a statement. “That can be a substantial savings over the cost of the average cemetery plot in southeast Michigan, not to mention a headstone.”The bus tour from the Sullivan location in Royal Oak at 705 W. 11 Mile Road leaves at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 20 and returns at 12:30 p.m. The hours are the same for a second tour Thursday, June 22 from the Sullivan Funeral Home in Utica at 8459 Hall Road.AdvertisementReservations for either of the tours can be made at 586-731-2411.Burial benefits at Great Lakes cemetery include the grave itself, grave opening and closing, perpetual care, grave liner, a headstone or marker, a burial flag and a Presidential Memorial Certificate.Spouses’ and dependent children’s n...

Following graduation, he attended a community college in South Dakota and then graduated from Iowa State University in 1984 with a degree in aeronautical engineering.Steve Married Micayla Holthe on Oct. 19, 1985, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars. The couple lived in Wichita, Kansas before moving to Whitewater, Kansas, where they resided for 25 years.
