Monday, March 27, 2017Melvin C. Dahlke, 93, Owensville, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017.He was born Feb. 2, 1924, to the late Theodore and Elsie (Buermann) Dahlke, in Ballwin.He was married to the late Louise E. (Engel) Dahlke, in October of 1948, at Christ Church Cathedral, St. Louis.Melvin served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the 220th Armored Engineer Battalion and was a Bronze Star recipient. He was the General Manager of Rauscher Chevrolet for many years. He retired to Peaceful Valley Lake in Owensville where he took various jobs, including selling and repairing golf carts.He was also preceded in death by sister, Bernice Hohne.He is survived by children, Carol and husband Thomas Eilermann, and Joann and husband Gary Banner; sibling, Verna Arnold; grandchildren, Julie and husband John Pusateri, Douglas and wife Sarah Eilermann, Marie and husband Greg Romano, Timothy Banner and fiancé Ashley, and Amanda Banner; and great grandchildren, Jessica and Elizabeth Dorney, Douglas Jr. and Emma Eilermann, and Molly and...
Monday, November 21, 2016William Cowling, 80, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Frene Valley Healthcare in Owensville.Bill was born in St. Louis on July 1, 1936, to the late Irvin and Margaret Bascom (Perkins) Cowling. He was married to Joann Munsell Sept. 14, 1957, until Joann’s passing, June 5, 1993. He married Joyce Maxwell on Nov. 30, 2005, in Vienna. He served his country with the United States Navy as a Seaman from 1954-1958 serving on the USS Barry. He was a truck driver for Consolidated Freight in Kansas City and a member of Teamsters Local 41. In his later years, he was a proud member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Rolla.His survivors include his wife, Joyce of the home; daughters, Pam Mason (David), St., Joseph, Mary Storey (Allen), Kansas City; son, William Cowling II (Tina) Blue Springs; brothers, Robert Cowling, Dillard, and John Cowling, Cuba; and 11 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and many extended family and friends.A service honoring Bill will be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 19, 2016, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Rolla with Rev.
