Monday, January 30, 2017Washington, D.C., and his solemn vows on July 5, 1958 at the Immaculate Conception Chapel, Loretto Fr. Andre was ordained to the priesthood on May 27, 1961 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona by the late Bishop J. Carroll McCormick, D.D. bishop of the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from St. Francis College (University) in 1957. He completed his Theological Studies at St. Francis Seminary, Loretto. Fr. Andre did graduate studies at The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. He received a Master of Science degree in Education from Villanova University, Villanova in 1966. During his long and very faithful Franciscan life, Fr. Andre ministered in education for over thirty years. He taught for one year at Norwood Academy, Chestnut Hill. In 1962, Fr. Andre began his long and illustrious teaching career at Bishop Egan High School, Fairless Hills. He taught religion and primarily all levels of German. He served as moderator of the high school band and was renowned for instilling in all students, faculty, and staff, enthusiastic school spirit for the Eagles. Coupled with his teaching career, Fr. Andre ministered each weekend at Queen of the Universe Church, Levittown and at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Southampton. In 1993, Fr. Andre did home ministry for his mother and brother. In 1995 he was assigned to St. Francis Friary, Loretto where he was in the ministry of prayer.Fr. Andre was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred J. He is survived by cousins and his Franciscan brothers.Friends will be received at the Chapel of St. Francis Friary-Mt. Assisi, Loretto at 4 p.m. Friday. He married Macy Gottshall on June 4 at Zion Lutheran Church.He is survived by his parents, wife, brother Larett, his paternal grandparents — Merrill and Christine D. Monday, October 17, 2016Burial will follow in the Rosemount Cemetery, Milo, Iowa.Wanda was born March 31, 1916, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the fourth child of Raymond Vernon Keeney and Cleo Keeney. The family lived in Altoona, Iowa, and then on several different farms in Warren County. Wanda attended county schools as well as St. Marys School and schools in Des Moines and Osceola, Iowa.The family moved to Milo, Iowa, in 1932 and Wanda graduated from Milo High School in 1935. After graduation, she worked for several business places in Milo. In 1942, Wanda went to Des Moines where she worked at Neal’s Drug Store for a short time and then at the Ankeny Ordinance Plant.On Nov. 23, 1942, Wanda married Gerald Francis Cleveland while he was on furlough from the Army. In 1943, she moved to Birmingham, Ala., to be where Gerald was stationed. In the spring of 1943, Gerald was sent overseas, so Wanda returned to Des Moines and renewed her work at the Ankeny Ordinance Plant. She worked there two and a half years.Gerald was honorably discharged from the Army and in September of 1945 Gerald and Wanda settled in Milo, Iowa, where later their daughter, Frances Ann, was born. In 1948, they moved to a farm near Mallard, Iowa, where a second daughter, Donna Louise, was born. They continued to farm near Mallard for five years.In 1953, Gerald and Wanda bought a farm in Madison County, Iowa.In 1964, Wanda began working at Kresge’s department store in Des Moines. He was 74years old.Gus was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Astoria, Ore., to Arthur and Estella (Jones)Goodell, and was a proud memberof the Chinook Indian Nation. He wasraised in Altoona, Wash., and attendedelementary school in Daliah. He laterattended middle school in Rosburg.Gus loved the water and spent much of his childhood gillnet fishing and boating on the Columbia River.Gus enjoyed hunting, playing shuffleboard, cribbage andwatching football.
