Stoddard, 93, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Colonial Manor of Amana.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday Dec. 8, 2016, at the Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown with Pastor Crystal Oberheu officiating. Interment will be held at Mound Cemetery, rural Watkins. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.Jerome was born on Oct. 6, 1923, in Brookfield, MO., the son of Edward and Stella (Shepherd) Stoddard and graduated from New Cambria High School in New Cambria, MO. On June 1, 1942, he was united in marriage to Helen Sebol in Linneus, MO. The couple lived in Missouri until moving to Iowa, where they lived in Luzerne and Blairstown for a number of years prior to settling in Watkins in 1956. Jerome owned and operated Stoddard Garage in Watkins for over 40 years.He is a member of the Norway Methodist Church. Jerome enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers and engines, hunting and fishing, watching westerns and the Atlanta Braves on television.Jerome is survived by his wife Helen, Watkins; children, Loretta (Larry) Lemons, Fruitland, ID, Carol (Darrell) Schulte, Norway, Steve Stoddard, Watkins and James (Cindy) Stoddard, Watkins; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-gr...
