In Osage, John ran a Conoco gas station that also had a tow truck service. Also while in Osage, John served as the president of Jaycees.In 1969, the family moved to Mason City, where John was a salesman for International Harvester. While in Mason City, John enjoyed being an usher for Holy Family Catholic Church. He eventually delivered auto parts for Arnold Motor Supply. After many endeavors, John retired in 1997.In 2007, John and Mary moved to Storm Lake. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was a life-long Knights of Columbus member.John liked collecting John Deere memorabilia and had many toy model trucks. He was an avid Iowa State Cyclones and Minnesota Twins fan. John enjoyed fishing, golfing and sharpening blades. Most of all, John was very proud of his family, and especially enjoyed the 63 years he spent with his loving wife, Mary.
