Lake, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, at Unity Point St. Luke’s Medical Center in Sioux City. Merlin Dean Hutchinson, son of Virgil and Charolette (Nation) Hutchinson, was born June 6, 1955, in Sac City. Merlin grew up in Sac City and attended the Sac City Community School, graduating with the Class of 1973. He was baptized and confirmed at the First Christian Church in Sac City. After graduation, Merlin continued his education at DMACC in Ankeny, and KU Medical in Kansas City, KS, where he received his Certification as a Special Procedure X-ray Technologist. He spent many hours doing his clinical studies at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. On February 14, 1992, Merlin was united in marriage to Melody Robuck in Des Moines. Together they were proud parents to Donald, Eugene, Virgil and Jacquelyn. Throughout his career, Merlin worked in Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa as a Radiological Technologist. In January of 2002, Merlin and his family moved to Storm Lake, where he continued his career until his health forced him to retire. Merlin was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. He attended and enjoyed tailgating at home games. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, ...

Theresa (Loeffelholz) Becker. Clara grew up in Mt. Carmel, Iowa, and graduated from Mt. Carmel Catholic High School. On May 18, 1954, she was united in marriage to Gerald Hoffman. The couple lived in Sac City, Iowa, and Graceville, before moving to a farm South of Cottonwood in 1962. They farmed for a time and later moved to Cottonwood. Clara worked for Empire State Bank and Mid Continent Cabinetry for a time. She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle. She was involved with several social clubs including card and birthday clubs. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.She is survived by her husband, Gerald Hoffman; children, David (and Millie) Hoffman of Papillion, Nebraska, Betty (and Duane) Van Keulen, of Balaton, Kathleen (and Bernard) Heck of Hanley Falls, Donna (and Randall) Klaphake of St. Stephen, Ruth (and Douglas) Peters of Wentworth, S.D., Kenneth Hoffman of Sauk Rapids, Daniel (and Donna) Hoffman of Cottonwood, 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister, Irene Feilmeier of Westside, Iowa, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.Arrangements withRehkamp Horvath Funeral DirectorsMarshall, Minnesota(507) 532-4522www.rehkamp-horvath.com...

He called 911 and removed his sister from the vehicle, the release says.A doctor who drove by also gave medical assistance, according to the release.Megan Sloss was transported to Loring Hospital in Sac City and airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, where she died a short time later, according to the release.A person who answered the phone at the number listed for her father said the family did not want to comment on the incident.Sloss' obituary says she was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., and lived in Manning before her family moved to Guthrie Center in 1997. Sloss attended Central College and Guthrie Center Schools before UI, the obituary says. It says her "greatest love" was her family, that she loved children and that she had "an uncommon devotion" to God."She was the homecoming queen, a beautiful dancer, a teacher, a good friend to many and a lover of the little things in life," the obituary says.The Sac County release says her death remains under investigation by Sac County officials and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
