Monday, March 27, 2017A Funeral Mass for Brian J. Wade, age 80 of Ogdensburg will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2017 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Joseph Morgan and Rev. Jay Seymour co-officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 23rd from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mr. Wade passed away on Sunday, March 19th at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.Brian was born on February 3, 1937 in Saratoga, NY, a son of Walter & Margaret (Wolstenholme) Wade. He graduated from Massena High School in 1955, where he was the quarterback of the football team that was undefeated during his years there. He continued his studies at Ithaca College on a football scholarship, majoring in physical education. He married Kathleen Warren of Guildford, CT on July 5, 1958. Upon graduation from Ithaca in 1959, he returned to teach and coach at Massena School District for a few years and later moved to Newington, CT where he coached football for Loomis Preparatory School. In1968, he was recruited by Alton “Slim” Elliott, who was the OFA athletic director at the time...
