He especially loved farming with his children. Most of all he looked forward to getting away in the winter with his wife for a little R & R.He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney and served on the Packwood Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed hunting, camping and boating and spending time with his 2 year old grandson, Cole.Surviving are his wife, Judy; two sons, Matt (fiancé, Amber Aschoff) Book of Des Moines and Tyler (Kaitlin) Book of Packwood; a daughter, Chelsi Book (Dustin Finnell) of Gainesville, FL; a grandson, Cole Finnell; his father and stepmother, Kay and Earlene Book of Mt. Pleasant; his mother-in-law, Kathryn Krier of Sigourney; a sister, Tammy (Kim) Cordray of Ottumwa; four brothers-in-law, Rick Krier, Jim (Mary) Krier, Larry (Dianne) Krier and Mike Krier. He also had several nieces & nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie; father-in-law, Kenneth Krier and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Krier and Susan Krier.Funeral mass was at 10:30a.m. today at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney with Father Charles J. Fladung presiding. Cremation followed the service.Visitation was at 10 a.m. Sunday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. A Rosary where all are welcome was recited at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. This will be followed with a time the family will receive friends until 4 p.m. Sunday.Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church of Sigourney, Packwood Volunteer Fire Dept. or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.-- PAID OBITUARY --...
