Monday, July 25, 2016JONES, Suzanne "Suzy" L. 91, died peacefully July 11, 2016. She grew up in Waukon, IA. She was an avid reader with a keen mind and an interest in all things, especially science. Suzy loved hiking and the outdoors. She had a strong commitment to being active. With her spirit of adventure and geology training (Cornell College in IA and Syracuse University), Suzy was the perfect mate for her husband of 58 years, Digger Jones. Through his job with the USGS and USAID, they traveled the world for thirty some years living in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Suzy made friends everywhere she went. Suzy is survived by her daughters, Cindy of Bloomington, IN, Sara (Dean) Reker of Tucson, Lalla (Ali) of Kuwait and grandsons, Jamie Ferguson (Lucy) of LA, and Mickey Ferguson of Chicago as well as beloved cousins and close friends, old and new. We are grateful for all the care provided by Homestead House, TMC Hospice, and Dr. Lorenz.
