Saturday, June 10, 2017James is survived by his wife, Vicki Hovre of Ettrick; two sons, Timothy (fiancée, Darla Tyznik) Hovre of Marshfield and John Hovre of Ettrick; a son-in-law, Randy (Linda) Holthaus of Bangor; three stepchildren, Kevin and Jason Kittleson both of Caledonia, Minn. and Karmen (Paul) Haugland of Spring Grove, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Megan Hovre, Ross (fiancée, Kayla Leis) Holtaus, Reed Holthaus, Rachel (fiance,`Ryan Allen) Holthaus, Ranae (Tyler) Herman, Jessica (Matt) Hesse, Erik Haugland, Kristin (Shane) O’Brien, Laura Kittleson and John Kittleson; and five great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents and first wife, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Holthaus; and a son, James E. Hovre.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, in the French Creek Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Pastor Anna Sorenson will officiate.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 12, in the French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.

A service will begin at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow.In lieu of flowers, friends and family can make donations in Paige’s name to Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, ME 04769.Jamie Guerrette of Presque Isle also knew Paige since she was young and said she was stunned by her death.“It was just such a surprise,” she said. “She just came out of that transplant so well and seemed to be making strides. Paige loved all things Girl Scouts, so I know that when they have the funeral Friday, all of the Girl Scouts who attend are going to wear their vests to honor her in that way. She was such a hopeful, giving child. She was an angel to everyone in this community, so we are all feeling the loss in our hearts for this very special little girl.”...
Monday, December 12, 2016She accidentally fell from the second story because a balcony hadn’t been built outside a sliding glass door.The lawsuit, filed in Kennebec County Superior Court by Willey Law Offices of Bangor on behalf of Frederick MacDonald, alleges that Robert Grenier was reckless and negligent because he “failed to block the sliding doors, warn that there was no balcony off the second-floor sliding doors, or the other reasonable actions to prevent Stacey Lynn MacDonald from opening the sliding doors and walking outside.”Phone messages left Friday at Willey Law Offices were not returned.A response to the lawsuit has not been filed in court yet. Reached by phone Friday, Grenier declined to comment but said Liberty Mutual insurance would be representing him in the civil case.MacDonald graduated from Madison Area Memorial High School and was a “dedicated, hard worker as well as a jack of all trades” who enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding horses, according to her obituary. She had a son, Carter Chase, according to her obituary.MacDonald had been at Grenier’s house at 160 Drummond Ave. for a Christmas party and had been drinking alcohol, according to the lawsuit.
