Ellsworth Mines, 76, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Clarksville, Tennessee.   Mr. Mines was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga before moving to Clarksville to be closer to his beloved grandchildren. Ellsworth was born June 24, 1940, in Winchester, Tn. He joined the United States Navy in 1957 then married Martha Sue Mines in 1960. He owned his own catering service, Bronc’s Catering and also worked many years for Adams Lithographing Company.  Ellsworth had a passion for reading books and viewing western movies.  He was an avid coin and stamp collector, a hobby he enjoyed very much. He was known for being a kind and thoughtful man.  He never met a stranger and would always share his stories and experiences with others. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Martha Sue Mines and his beloved mother, Lillie Mae Mines; brothers, Kenneth and Ronald Mines. Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Timothy, Dan and Patricia Mines; four grandsons, Adam, Matth...

University of Northern Colorado and earned his M.B.A. in Guidance and Counseling. Dan enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for 20 years from 1969 to 1989; he was stationed at Ellsworth AFB in 1986. Upon retirement from the Air Force, Dan continued to work in Rapid City until his final retirement in 2016.Dan along with Veronica Carnes raised three children. He and his family lived in Chapel Valley for close to 30 years. Dan enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing, and running in the Black Hills. He dedicated his time to coaching various sports for his children. He was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he met his future wife, Karen Ham. Dan and Karen were married March 5, 2016. Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Ellsworth — who was struck by a car and remained in critical condition for four days before his death — will be laid to rest Wednesday, a trooper says.A public viewing will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Willard Stake Center, 8230 S. Highway 89 in Willard, said UHP Lt. Lee Perry.Ellsworth's public funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Weber State University's Dee Events Center, Perry said. After the ceremony, Ellsworth's body will be taken to the Brigham City Cemetery.Ellsworth had stopped to assist with a downed power line in Box Elder County about 9:45 p.m. on Nov. 18 and was trying to alert the driver of a semitrailer truck about the power line when a car struck him, police said.
