Monday, February 20, 2017Kathleen T. “Katie” Collins, 80, passed away peacefully Monday February 13, 2017 at the University Of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.Katie was born in Massena on May 20, 1936 to the late Charles P. and Anna M. (Hammill) Collins. She was raised and educated locally graduating from St. Joseph’s Academy in Brasher Falls. She furthered her education at Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, graduating in 1954.For over 30 years Kathleen was a secretary for Alcoa in Massena. After retirement, in 1987 she became Brasher Town Clerk, serving her community for 10 years. She was a member of the Alcoa 25 Year Club and the Retired Town Clerks Association.Always up for an adventure and never one for slowing down, after her second retirement Katie continued to help others and serve her community. She volunteered for and was active in numerous organizations in the area. Monday, January 16, 2017New York State Fair, watching deer on Barnhart Island, and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.Ronnie is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Chuck and Nicole Miner of Winthrop; and Yvonne Newcombe and her companion, Eric Aldridge of Massena; his grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan, Hunter, Carlee, Gunner, Alyssa, Rita, Kaitlyn, Sydney, Camryn, Jordyn, and Ryder; his sister, Charleen and Steve Hutchins of Helena, a niece and a nephew.In addition to his parents, Ronnie is predeceased by infant twin daughters, Karen and Karann and an infant sister, Yvonne Miner.As per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
