(Rosemary) Doran of Davidsonville, MD; two daughters, Mary Doran (Mark) Brown of Annapolis, MD and Jean Doran (Steve) Levine of Ellicott City, MD; 11 grandsons, Matt, Cody, Tommy, Kevin, Eric, Alex, Phillip, Andy, Brian, Jeff and Andrew; five granddaughters, Jule, Katie, Laura, Emily Jean and Mary Catherine; and eight great-grandchildren.Friends are invited to celebrate Thomas’ life with his family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 23 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 24, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis. Monday, February 27, 2017DAVIDSONVILLE, MD — Dr. Daniel J. Placido of Davidsonville, MD, passed away on February 22 with his family by his side. Born in Lawrence, MA, on February 13, 1925, Daniel was the son of the late Rosemary and Donato Placido, both of whom emigrated from Italy.He graduated from Lawrence High School and attended St. John’s Prep School in Danvers, MA, as well as Andover Academy in Andover, MA. He was accepted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which he planned to attend, but was drafted by the Army and served in World War II. Daniel was witness to the aftermath of the massacre of Malmady and was called as a potential witness at Nuremberg. He was wounded in the battle of the Ardennes, flown to Belgium, where he was awarded the Belgium Fourragere, the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.He holds a degree in chemistry from the University of Miami and graduated from the Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, DC, in 1955. Monday, February 27, 2017DAVIDSONVILLE, MD — Judy Bober Hamilton, 76, a 45-year resident of Riva passed away at her home on Monday, February 20, 2017, due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.Judy was born on December 31, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Alphonse and Aunda Bober. She was a graduate of Madison County High School in Virginia, where she earned a business scholarship. Judy worked as a bookkeeper, and retired from Nationwide Insurance. She then worked for 12 years at JoAnn’s Fabric to support her hobbies.Judy loved to be at the beach and spend time with family and friends. She was an avid quilter and knitter. He was a former employee of the United States Postal Service; and Heating and Oil Companies, where he was a service technician, and a former employee of Wells Fargo. He was owner and operator of Don’s Heating and Don’s Trophies and Plaques.
